Professional Summary

I graduated from Colorado University with an MA in English/creative writing. My manuscript won CU's Jovanovich Imaginative Award for best graduate thesis as well as receiving finalist status in the Nidus Literary Journal competition. A chapter from my narrative nonfiction work, Coyote Heart, was published in the October 2006 issue of Sojourn Journal. I wrote for a monthly newspaper for five years. I have taught first grade through middle school creative writing courses. My essays, reviews, articles, short stories, memoir and poetry have been published online as well as in literary journals, newspapers and Chronos Magazine. I teach poetry online for the Long Story Short School of Writing, partners with Colorado Free University. CFU is a 35-year-old institution dedicated to providing innovative adult education programs and training seminars to Metro Denver lifelong learners.

Services Offered

The Writer's Arbor serves the local and broader communities both in person and by phone. Our primary target audience is individuals seeking guidance and feedback for their fiction and non-fiction projects, from creating the first draft to structuring the final copy, and then polishing the query letter and synopsis required by agents and publishers.
The Arbor also offers consultation to corporate clients seeking to revamp brochures, letters and web sites to improve the narrative flow and promote readability. We target trouble spots and assist the client to develop more effective expression in both fiction and non- fiction arenas.
