I'm a AAAS Science Journalism Award-winning freelance science writer and blogger who can tackle complicated scientific and technical material. I also have extensive storyboarding and voice recording experience.

My work has appeared in The Boston Globe, The Denver Post, The (Louisville) Courier-Journal, The Wyoming Tribune-Eagle, High Country News, and Fungi Magazine. I have extensive experience reporting on health, science, and environmental subjects in my seven years as a professional writer and blogger. Since March 2009, I've written a popular science blog called "The Artful Amoeba".

I have two degrees in Biology (BA) and Plant Pathology (M.S.) from Cornell and one from MIT in Science Writing (M.S.).

Prior to freelancing, I was a science writer for the National Center for Atmospheric Research, and before that the Health and Environment Reporter for the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle.
