Professional Summary
I'm a journalist, author and media trainer with more than a dozen years of experience, primarily in Asia. My background is in American newspapers, but I've been freelancing for publications around the world since 1998. I'm a correspondent for Archaeology magazine, and I was Gourmet's Asia correspondent until the magazine closed. I cover food, environment, health and social issues. I also develop journalism training curricula. My husband, photojournalist Jerry Redfern, and I offer cultural consulting services for people doing business or living in Asia. I was a 2010-2011 Ted Scripps Fellow in Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado, where I developed a website and global forum on the future of food. The London Times named my food blog, Rambling Spoon, one of the world's best.
